My interest in photography began with the desire to capture photographs of my son, who is now thirteen
and he has been involved with various sports from a very young age; lacrosse, football, baseball and now
his greatest love, hockey. I was "that dad" the one always carting around the camera bag, taking as many
shots as possible. As I came to know the other sports parents, they naturally, would ask to see the various
shots I had taken and starting asking for copies....and so f-stop sports was born!
I wanted to create better photos for myself, my son and others so I started to research all I could about sports
photography. I then took some photography courses and am currently being mentored by Dave Hutchinson,
wildlife photographer. I have over the past 7 years, increased my skills and camera quality. However, I believe
what sets me apart is the desire to capture that perfect moment and share it with the kids and their parents.
I love stopping time and reflecting, in my photos, that irreplaceable joy, in that special goal, or team victory.
Children grow up so fast and every year blends into another. I want to immortalize that special time. Even
though I also take posed shots, my true love is capturing that moment in time so that it is never lost.
A positive attitude is a powerful force... it can’t be stopped!!!
